two DVB cards side by side

Postby Vispen74 » Sat Mar 07, 2015 4:36 pm

No one knowing how to get TBS driver side by side with a natively supported TV card in Ubuntu? When I stalling TBS driver, other card stops functioning.
How to get a TBS card working together with other branded TV card? In my case RTL2838.

Most of the times this is mission impossible.
You can help me buy new work notebook with paypal donation, after 8 years it's time to upgrade.

Hi

You have to use free drivers (GPL V4L) if you want to have support for multiple TV cards.
See my query: viewtopic.php?f=47&t=8678

kaffeine finds channels and displays well the tbs6982 and/or a hauppauge hvr2200 dvb-t , at least with ubuntu 15.04 .
in the box i also have a BlackMagic Intensity4k but compilation failed with this os while it compiled always well before .
i ll retry mint kde17 amd mint debian2

I just bought a new TBS6205 quad tuner, compiled drivers on mythbuntu 3.13.0-54-generic #91-Ubuntu.
It works well but seems to install an older version of the multimedia tree which disables my HR2210 card.

The only reason I want to have both cards is the Hauppauge card has connectors to my old vcr. I am digitising many hours of family videos dating back to the early '70s and need the HR2210 to work before I pop my clogs, no-one else in the family has the technical expertise (or time) to attempt this. At the moment my work-around is to revert back to an earlier kernel without the updates, but if I forget and leave the machine on, my pvr can't do the recordings.

As I am an extremely old fart, I tend to forget... now where was I ??
Oh yes, anyone got any ideas, the wiki says this card uses an updated pci interface as well.
my system:
Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS xfce v.4.10 mythtv 0.27 Gigabyte Z68 mobo i7 2600K 16gb ram nvidia GTS450

Cheers, Tony.
