Just a quick update. I tried both drivers and both work fine on 4.x. I'm currently using the open source drivers as they are a bit easier to build.

Thanks steven/crazycat. I'm still on 32bit. Originally because of some driver issues. They've probably been fixed a long time now, but changing to 64bit looks like it requires a re-install for almost no gain. Anyway, at least I know I have two potential options. Mythbuntu is moving to Linux Kernel 4.x. Any news on whether the Linux drivers will work with 4.x? The latest version only has setup scripts for 2.x and 3.x.
