Re: 6928 and dvbdream crashing Win 7 64 bit

I switched to a Haswell CPU and mobo and no more crashes from just running dvbdream
with the 6928.

Re: No 6928 mentioned in 130927

I got the tbs Linux driver(s) installed, but the 6928 driver is brain damaged: dmesg | grep front [ 9.978231] SAA716x TBS 0000:06:00.0: DVB: registering adapter 0 frontend 1953724787 (TurboSight TBS 6928 DVBS/S2 frontend)... Re: No 6928 mentioned in 130927

I would like to have an app under Linux comparable to DVBDream.
At the moment I'd be happy if I can just record NASA Select HD without
the TBS card crashing the machine.

The previous card worked fine for NASA Select before it died
but the 6928 has never worked reliably.

Re: No 6928 mentioned in 130927

Is w_scan supposed to scan? Seems logical. But w_scan -v -v -v -v -v -fs -S105W0 just sits there doing nothing. It complains about defaulting to UTF-8 but there are no other messages. Is the board defective? Both TBSViewer and DVBDream crash and burn under 64 bit Win7 on a system that is quite stabl...

Re: 6928 and dvbdream crashing Win 7 64 bit

TBSViewer crashes apparently the same way (crashing Windows itself).

Re: No 6928 mentioned in 130927

I'm trying to get Linux and the 6928 to record NASA Select on AMC18 because the Windows version always crashes after a while.

Re: No 6928 mentioned in 130927

I finally got some drivers to install using instructions in README_TBS6921. Why isn't there a README_TBS6928 file ?????? Next step is to scan the satellite AMC18: [root@stereo dvb-s]# w_scan -c US -fs -sS105W0 w_scan version 20130331 (compiled for DVB API 5.10) using settings for 105.0 west AMC 15/1...

Re: No 6928 mentioned in 130927

Apparently I have not installed the TBS drivers. Following the instructions as best as I can (there is no "build" command as mentioned in the README) the make fails looking for a .o file. Looking at the files generated, there is a .o.x96_64 file but no tbs8921ctro.o file. I don't want file...
