Re: FE_READ_BER and MER

Thanks crazycat for a nice constructive reply, at least we are getting somewhere now. So next question is, How to implement this Without using software such as Femon? A simplified and concise response would be appreciated as what I am looking for is a very basic method/implementation using Existing ...

Re: FE_READ_BER and MER

Updatelee, Why such animosity in your reply? WTF? Who is blaming others? I am asking a very simple question, ESPECIALLY when I get a "0" for an output. What, in this forum we cannot ask questions? Why don't you explain how to shift decimal points from "0" output to get a BER meas...

Re: FE_READ_BER and MER

Thanks Sergio... Well using femon in this way that you've mentioned is great if I am using command line and actual femon program. However this shouldn't be needed because using V4L drivers or TBS drivers and the appropriate calls should be able to output it already. This means I shouldn't need to us...

Re: FE_READ_BER and MER

Hi Sergio, Actually I know about this page already, its only the function calls for various info. However this isn't the information that I require. If you want, you can try it yourself, you can issue commands FE_READ_BER and you'll see the output... it will be "0" or a 3 digit number like...

Re: FE_READ_BER and MER

Surely by now someone from support would have replied with an answer?
Or does no reply mean that support doesn't know about their own product? It can't be... surely it can't be.

Re: Ubuntu 12.04.1 TBS6984

Hi Fantom, I can tell you from experience, its most probably not going to be the cards, its going to be your PC Motherboard BIOS. I know this sounds strange because one would immediately assume its going to be the TBS card because that is the bit that doesn't work but I actually had a similar proble...

Re: FE_READ_BER and MER

Updatelee, BER does Not = bit error rate, it is a Ratio measurement, not a rate measurement. Thus it is Bit Error Ratio. Also, the output that it provides is something like "31" or "251" etc... I've never seen a BER measurement that looks like that and I've been in the satellite ...
