Re: TBS Open Source Driver breaks Hauppauge card

Thanks again. Maybe I should have prefaced my original post with "I'm trying to learn Linux" :) After Googling around, I had a quick try at patching the kernel, but I think I'm a bit out of my element at this stage. It's obviously not as simple as just replacing a couple of files that the ...

Re: TBS Open Source Driver breaks Hauppauge card

Thanks

I have tried guessing what the TBS driver has replaced, but so far it hasn't worked. I know the Hauppauge card uses an EM28xx chipset. If you have a set of files I need to move, I'm quite happy to have a go at that.

TBS Open Source Driver breaks Hauppauge card

I've been trying to set up a Ubuntu 16.04 Server with my TBS6280 and two Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD cards, but I'm running into a little problem I'm hoping someone here can help with. I'm using a custom kernel (https://launchpad.net/~b-rad/+archive/ubuntu/kernel+mediatree+hauppauge) from a Hauppauge dev...

Re: TBS6281 Blue screen of death

It's been a long time since I looked at this board, mostly because I stopped using the 6281 due to it's unreliable drivers. I did get responses from TBS. They were very polite, but said they couldn't reproduce the BSoDs or find much to diagnose even after I sent them a full debug dump. To be honest ...

Re: TBS6281 Blue screen of death

Well it looks like the 1.0.0.7 driver hasn't fixed the issue. I've had three BSoDs in the last two weeks (two in one day) all attributed to the TBS driver according to the Microsoft Debugger. Back to the drawing board :(

Re: TBS6281 Blue screen of death

Having contributed to the 6280 thread, I thought I'd jump in to this one too as I bought a 6281 a month or so ago. I ran across the BSoD problem the other week and have been speaking to Lucy in TBS support again. There's now a 1.0.0.7 driver in the downloads section if anyone else having problems wa...

Re: Windows Crashes / Blue screens

Final update on this thread (hopefully :)). The day after I made my last post, the server Blue Screened (typical!). I decided I was fed up with Microsoft and their inability to provide support for their products (they wanted to charge me £60 to tell me what the Action Center message said), so I down...

Re: Windows Crashes / Blue screens

Further update to my previous post. It's been three months since I last posted, and my HP Microserver has only blue screened once in that time, so I'd say there's absolutely no doubt at all that the 1.0.1.2 driver most definitely has problems that the 1.0.1.1 doesn't. Much as I'd like to see a new d...

Re: Windows Crashes / Blue screens

Mini update from me. I've been testing the 1.0.1.1 driver now for 3 or 4 weeks, and I haven't had a single BSoD! (long may it continue) I'm not sure what all the changes were in the 1.0.1.2 driver, but the 1.0.1.1 driver seems to be working without any notable problems at this end. I have been speak...

Re: Windows Crashes / Blue screens

Hi infi. It kept doing it and eventually got shipped a new replacement card the 6285. Seems to have been quite stable but still had 1 or 2 bsods - attributed to the same bug check in the tbs driver... Thanks for the info about MS - I'll start looking at it too if you could point me in the right dir...
