Not too sure about the order of make / install from your description but after the : -

v4l/tbs-x86_64.sh
make

I always have to clear the old media befoe install with:-

sudo mv /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/kernel/drivers/media ~/media.bak
sudo make install
sudo reboot

Might just be me but I have also found it necessary to mv the old kernel /lib/modules directories out of the way as well as the mv /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/kernel/drivers/media
the regular kernel updates are a bit of a pain.

The 2nd solution to move the media folder fixed this for me too after upgrading to Ubuntu 13.04

Looking good, I needed to delete the tuners in myth and re-setup/re-tune, but now have access to SD and HD simultaneously via the TBS6280.

I also had a kernel security update and then the TBS driver stopped working. I was totally unable to recompile the driver for dvb-t2.
