Re: Poor Performance

..for example even if we assume there is some problem with TBS 8921 (either hardware or software) i can easily modify the auto-frequency acquisition range in the driver with increasing it to always return lock success on 11048, even if there is huge frequency offset and that is not tqCody,he actual...

Re: TBS 6921 release date

do you have Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) only with TBS 8921 and only when use the BSTool? or is that solved in new version 2.0.1.2 available on the website?

Re: TBS 6921 release date

I've updated the blind scan tool with the new version 2.0.1.2 (was 2.0.0.9) from http://www.tbsdtv.com/english/Download.html Now it's possible to enter IF in MHz and the crash problem seems to be solved. Remains the poor performance. No small bandwidth carriers are found. Same for extreme wideband t...

Re: TBS 6921 release date

It seems after using the tool, then starting another dvb app, then exiting out of it will put the computer into a re-boot, eveytime, doesn't matter which app. I guess you've selected automatic restart after a system crash ;) The BS_Tool is so badly programmed that once you have used it, the system ...

Re: TBS 6921 release date

@starman345,

By and large you've confirmed my findings. Just to make clear, do you own a 6921 or 8291? I've had a lot BSODs at well, which will be another point of investigations.
IMHO, just slowing down the scan by longer locking time outs won't solve the problem.

Re: Poor Performance

@Cody, Maybe not inherited but newly produced? I was wrong about the offset frequency in one direction. In fact it's much worse. There's a kind of ripple or what you called birdies in the analog age;) Here's an example of a carrier with a nominal frequency of 11048MHz. On this frequency the T...

Re: TBS 6921 release date

From: http://www.tbsdtv.com/english/Download.html >TSReader_BDASource ->TSReader_BDASource_TBS8921.dll; properties -> TSReader_BDASource_8920.dll, vers. 1, 0, 5, 7 @Cody; I doubt that the loop through configuration has a major influence on the blind scan results. With the same configuration most low...

Re: TBS 6921 release date

Here are some remarks about blind scan: Low_SR_transponders are not detected at all!! Due to missing 22KHz and diseqc, I've connected the 8921 to the loop through output of my Vantage 8000S. On DTH satellites with wide band transponders, blind scan works ok with some occasional missing transponders....

Re: TBS 6921 release date

@pjm, I didn't know about the existence of TSReader sources for TBS, thanks :) The bad thing is, that LNB control doesn't work. My 8921 is recognized as TBS 8920. Apparently all dlls are renamed 8290. Hopefully this will be fixed soon. To be able to perform my tests (blindscan etc.), I have the card...

Re: Poor Performance

The altdvb diseqc problem has been solved with the BDA2 driver. With the latest TBSviewer_v20100921 I couldn't get diseqc working but dvbviewer-pro works ok, though for the recording service the latest Hardware_Database_2 has to be installed. Remains the very poor reception performance. The result o...
