I'm not a huge fan of the fact is a separate tree either, if much rather a set of patches.

I've thought about supporting the tbs stuff and making my own patch set but they didn't make it easy with precompiled .o files that do trivial things, shame they couldn't just do the entire thing opensrc.

Kmap functions have changed in recent kernels, you can either patch it your self, Google it took find lots of threads, or just don't compile that module.

lnb's actually determine what band is received, they receive that particular band then convert the signal to the lband. ALL tuners and ALL satellite receivers on the market all tune the Lband. So its not the tuner that determines if it can receive C or KU or Ka etc, its the LNB. 4:2:0, 4:2:2, mpeg2,...

the lattice is a PLD, programmable logic device. think software meets hardware (ie firmware). pretty common stuff now days. the cypruss chip is a 8051 processor, pretty common as well, used in millions of keyboards around the world. the sont chip is a DVB-T2 demodulator. the NXP is a tuner. so combi...

sudo make clean
sudo v4l/tbs-x86_64.sh
sudo make
sudo make install

compiles fine on 3.5 for me w/ubuntu 12.04
