Re: Linux Driver for Kernel 3.x Released

Thanks for the quick reply cody. After following your instructions and compiling the driver I get the following in dmesg after inserting the module: [ 10.173009] cx25840 3-0044: loaded v4l-cx23885-avcore-01.fw firmware (16382 bytes) [ 10.180560] cx23885_dvb_register() allocating 1 frontend(s) [ 10.1...

Re: Linux Driver for Kernel 3.x Released

Weird problems with this release. When I list the driver dir I get funny output [email protected] /tmp/linux-tbs-drivers_111013/linux-tbs-drivers $ ls -l linux/ ls: cannot access linux/kernel_version.h: Permission denied ls: cannot access linux/include: Permission denied ls: cannot access linux/Makefile...

Re: kernel 3.0.0.1 on debian wheezy(testing)

Here is an excerpt from an email I received from the the euro support team when I emailed them about the new kernel. hi, we're planning major update for 3.0 - for the 3.0 release we will sync our package to the latest V4L, i.e. switched to newer remote control infrastructure as it was mentioned in t...

Re: Future of the Linux-Driver

Just tried building with 2.6.39. Wont compile at all now. /tmp/linux-tbs-drivers_110531/linux-tbs-drivers/v4l/cx88-input.c: In function 'cx88_ir_irq': /tmp/linux-tbs-drivers_110531/linux-tbs-drivers/v4l/cx88-input.c:509:23: warning: variable 'toggle' set but not used [-Wunused-but-set-variable] CC [...

Re: Future of the Linux-Driver

I have exact same problem but I disabled rc_core stuff in my kernel config (don't care about remote control until I can get the tv side of things working) but then I ran into the v4l2_i2c_new_subdev_cfg error and apparently this has been removed from v4l-utils since January. I really hope TBS can ge...

Re: Future of the Linux-Driver

Sorry Meindert can't help you I'm afraid. After asking on the Arch Linux forums I got a reply regarding v4l2_i2c_new_subdev_cfg. v4l2_i2c_new_subdev_cfg was defined in v4l2-common.c of v4l-utils/libv4l. It was deleted in January. You may have to downgrad v4l-utils or modify your patch like this: htt...

Re: Future of the Linux-Driver

Tried again today with the newer linux-tbs-drivers_110531.rar drivers. Still same error when trying to insert the module. # modprobe cx23885 FATAL: Error inserting cx23885 (/lib/modules/2.6.38-ARCH/kernel/drivers/media/video/cx23885/cx23885.ko): Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dm...

Re: Future of the Linux-Driver

I'm still getting same errors as when I compiled with Andys patch.

It looks like this new rar is just a re-packaging or Andys work and not a proper solution :(
