Re: Openelec for MatrixTBS

I understood mllan to say that it was booting from SD. I know. But even I newer tried that (focuses on different things). Sure, I can understand that. He should tell us exactly what he did. I think he just created 2 partitions and copied files on first one (kernel, system, u-boot, uenv). So create_...

Re: Openelec for MatrixTBS

I have Rasberry Pis running OE, I have AMD E450 systems running OE ... why can't I get the Matrix to run OE? What do I need to do? I don't support sd card. Just use MfgTool2 supplied with image and select appropriate .bat file. How hard can this be? I understood mllan to say that it was booting fro...

Re: Openelec for MatrixTBS

The u-boot installed by OpenElec release will check every sd/mmc from 0 to 2. If present it will load kernel, system and dtb from partition 1. The kernel will use the first available sd as mmcblk0. That means if you put an sd-card with OpenElec layout into MatrixTv it will boot from it! Which is go...

Re: Openelec for MatrixTBS

After about 20 tries, and no success, tried using wget ... that always fetches 19,405 bytes, but my JS isn't good enough to interpret what it's supposed to be doing.

Edit:
Okay, four hours later it worked perfectly! :?

Try again. And maybe using different browser.

Hmmm, still the same - both Firefox and Chromium.

Re: Updating system?

I can confirm that I now have MatrixTV booting from the SD card (SD3), flashed from Ubuntu desktop, making it much easier for me to update, and swap between, releases. Running 1.0.0.6-2, I have identified two issues relating to HDMI-CEC (I suspect one hardware and one software). TBS assure me that t...

Re: Installing latest version of XBMC

So, to confirm ... you are agreeing that the Matrix is not actually market-ready yet? It's disappointing that a newer release is less usable than the previous release - this would suggest that development and release procedures are seriously lacking! Okay, I will wait (what else can I do?) and I wou...

Re: Updating system?

Thanks Steven. Unfortunately, I don't think my 60 year old eyes are up to the task of soldering smc any longer.

Re: Installing latest version of XBMC

I've managed to borrow a Windows machine in order to install the latest firmware (1005?), in the hope that it would resolve some of the issues I've been having (such as the settings not surviving a power cycle). What a mistake! 1005 is unusable - I simply cannot establish a cec connection - my TV do...
