I mean to remember that i had a similar problem, but trying to update several times corrected the error. Also try another system like the newest openelec or matrixtv.

Look into the file ucl2.xml if there is an option to burn only the uboot to eMMC. if so you can edit the file cfg.ini to only burn the uboot to your eMMC. In the ubuntu 14 debug download there is this option available. You have to change SabreSD-eMMC in the cfg.ini to SabreSD-eMMC-uboot . Then only ...

Are you trying to install on a USB disk ? Disconnect all devices from your matrix-tv and install again.

I used the Kingo root on all my 8 Android Devices and never recognized any problems. If kingo installs an chinese su-root app on your matrix install Supersu from Google-Play, this will allow you to remove the chinese root app. Look under settings, display or screen, there normally should be options ...

I don't have Android installed, but you can try under Settings, about Device, klick on the build number several times, normally it should state now you're an developer and the debuging options should become available. or if connecting via otg-usb cable to a windows computer recognizes the matrix you...

I don't know which kernel the matrix-tv build is using, but i think you can find the matching kernel sources here:
