Sorry for the late reply, i will try it imediately and report my results.

We have to run it in a chroot environment, but in openelec it's not possible to chroot, i think. I don't know if it can be done in matrixtv.
Thats the reason i try to boot a debian system, in debian it will work for sure.

I tested on OpenELEC and there it works. Do you mean the Plexmediaserver is working on Openelec ? On your new builds ? when i tried to start with ./Plex Media Server i have the same issue, ./start.sh is working, but i get errors and the Server doesn't start on the openelec build from 14.09. @ Kohai...

Try this:
cd /storage/plex/Application
./start.sh

or
cd ~/plex/Application
./start.sh

I don't know in which directory you unpacked the Server, normally it should be in /storage/plex/Aplication.

What version are you running on your matrix? to build the pvr part.

1. When you have the firmware file in /lib/firmware/ you don't need to move it here.
2. Do you have the file linux-tbs-sources.tar.bz2 ? Change in the directory where the file is located and type the command again.
