Hi,
Compare to other solutions of DVB card,TBS6981 consume little bit more power.But with 150W standard PC power,it should work good.
With my experience,most of scanning issues not relate with power consumption of 6981. You case seems rarely.

I suggest you should send back the device for fix it or replacement.
We found the hardware issue could generated lots interrupt event in linux.And your device probably involved.

Hi,
1) Please try to update your mainboard's BIOS,the PCIE solt issue alwasy relate with BIOS's hardware compatible ability.
2) Windows Media Center for Vista do not support DVB-S device. If you want to play with WMC,you should update to Windows 7.

But i don't have lower than SR 1000 signal.
