Re: Update driver for 6909 card on MOI Pro AMD

Update: I installed two more dishes and found that this third type of Japanese made single polarity ku LNB will only work with the Ku 10750 (Hi-Band, Inverted-Polar.) setting. The v160116 driver was working properly but everything was too slow. I decided to updated the whole system which forced me t...

Re: Update driver for 6909 card on MOI Pro AMD

I saw your message and was excited to see there was another driver to try. I installed it late last night but did not have much time to test it. However I can say there is some improvement. I am using Ubuntu 14.04 and TVH 4.X Both 12/29/15 and 01/16/16 drivers require that I set TVH to DVBS for DVBS...

Re: Update driver for 6909 card on MOI Pro AMD

After five weeks in transit, I just received my TBS6909 the other day. I successfully installed the 15/12/29 drivers and, using TVheadend, have been able to play two separate transponders onto two separate TVs using the same coax input. However the problem lies in that the tuner is not sensitive eno...

Re: Channel Switching time

I agree with above. Switching to a channel on the other input takes a second or two longer (up to 5 sec) than switching to a channels on the same input but a different transponder.

Re: MPEG 2 HD vs. MPEG 4 HD

It is FTA. I tested on the 1080i PBS channels on 125W freq. 12180V as well as 1080i NHK on 58W freq. 4040H. I do not know the bit-rate yet, but I will see if I can find it using one of my TBS-cards and the appropiate software.

MPEG 2 HD vs. MPEG 4 HD

I have yet to flash the unit with the new software but I have it up and running out of the box. I use a 1 gig switch and VLC on a computer with an Intel I7 cpu. The MOI seems to work well with Standard Definition MPEG2 and MPEG4, however in High Definition, only MPEG2 is problem free. I find the MPE...

Any End-user reviews of the blind-scan feature of this card?

Has any end-users successfully used the blindscan feature of this card? Did it blindscan a DVB-S2 signal? I have had a tbs6980 for almost a year now and certainly miss the ability to blindscan DVB-S2.

Yes one can simultaneously record two channels with DVBDream

I just discovered that DVBDream (later referred as DD) will record two channels at the same time. I first started DD version 1.4 which is pointed at AMC 21. It is connected to tuner 2. I then started DD version 1.5, a separate installation, which is pointed at Galaxy25. It is connected to tuner 1. A...

Re: My first S2 signal with my TBS6980

I succeded getting my 4X1 diseqc switches to function by putting in the committed raw command vs the uncommitted raw commands. See other thread called TBS6980 diseqc 1.1 how to?
