For me I find putting the CPU under stress actually fixes the problem. I don't understand how this fixes the problem for me but try:
"stress -c 1"

Any idea where the problem might be? Disabling CPU frequency changes does not help.

I replied in another thread but did you actually disable pstates and or cpufreq in the kernel?

for me disabling C6/C7 Support in the BIOS did the trick

Thanks both,

Setting "Performance" governor for cpupower did not work and I think that was because of boost was still enabled. I have disabled the following in the bios and it now works!:
AMD Powernow
AMD CPB
CPU C1E
CPU C6
