TBS6982 - Not Recongnised + 2 Pin Power ??

Hi Just bought one of these "manufacturer refurbished & retested" on eBay and cant seem to get it to work. I've put it in a PCIe x 1 slot (is this OK??) but it is not recognised at all by the PC (HP Workstation XW4600) and does not show up in device manager.
I'm wondering:

a) Does the card work in PCIe x 1 slot

b) Does it need seperate power feed? The card has a 2 pin connector that nothing fits from the ATX power supply and there is no adapter in the box. I cant find any reference at all to this in the manuals so no idea which pin is which and what voltage required otherwise I would fabricate a connection to test.

If anybody shed any light on this, it would be appreciated :-) otherwise I assume I'll just return the card

Thanks

The card often needs external power (not getting enough power through the PCI bus). The card should be delivered with an adapter that connects to the PSU on your PC.

Hi

Please update your BIOS to the latest version and have a try change the PCI-E slot.

Thanks

Kind Regards
