Struggle to install drivers for 6982

Hi, I bought a 6982 Second hand off ebay. I have got it working but it was a struggle.

Firstly, there are no downloads for linux listed on the TBS page, and its not clear what you should load if you havent used a TBS product before.

I have tried Ubuntu 20, Debian 9 and Debian 10 to get it working to see if it was a distro problem

I followed the instructions below ( after installing the kernel sources & headers and various software that was required )
from https://github.com/tbsdtv/linux_media/wiki

The first time I tried it compiled with errors, I then tried ./install.sh a second time and it worked.
This is very confusing

What am I doing wrong ? Is there a more complete guide to installing TBS cards ?

I also cant get the card to work with another card at the same time which I have written a post about.
