OpenELEC 6.0.0 install question

OpenELEC 6.0.0 install question

Postby sparkey1000 » Tue Jan 26, 2016 7:48 am

I have a TBS2910 V23 and would like to install OpenELEC 6.0.0 containing KODI. In order to install a program a MfgTool2 file is required in conjuction with the program. All programs in the download section of the Matrix website have this file available. Since OpenElec 6.0.0 is not available on the website I am stuck. Does anyone know a way to obtain a copy of OpenELEC 6.0.0 that has an associated MfgTool2 file.

Regards

Thanks maspeter for you response.

I went to https://drive.google.com/folderview?id= ... aring#list and downloaded OpenELEC-imx6.arm-6.0.0-matrix.tar.
This zip file has an MfgTool2 file which I ran. The file seems to download something into my Matrix TBS2910 v2.3. However, when I throw the program switch back to boot from update the unit just sits there. Nothing , just a blank screen. Any ideas anyone? Getting this unit to run Kodi is proving very difficult.

This image was tested on v1.2 and v2.3.
Also check (or post here) content of log file mfgtool.log.

If you have serial console connect it and see what you get. If not you are on your own.
You could also connect to some other tv.
You can help me buy new work notebook with paypal donation, after 8 years it's time to upgrade.

Vpeter

Thanks again for your assistance.

I tried a monitor instead of a TV. Same problem. Blank screen.
I tried downloading and extracting the program and again installing the program. Same problem. Blank screen.

When I install the Matrix TV for Matrix V2.1 hardware from the Matrix website the unit works. The only thing wrong is that the openelec version is not the latest kodi version.

Here is the contents of the mfgtool.log
DLL version: 2.2.3

I get the feeling my problem is something simple. I am learning Linux and still have a long way to go.

By the way. I downloaded this file and it works.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxZbVn ... ef=2&pli=1

Only problem it is an early version of XBMC V13 Gotham

I am trying to find a version of Kodi V15.2 ISENGARD that will work on my Matrix TBS2910 V2.3. A mfgTool2 files is required to be embedded in the file.

If anyone knows where to find this please let me know.

sparkey1000, the file I posted works for me. Seems I'm the only user of it that's why I will not bother much with this platform.
mfgTool2 is included in every release I made. You can also copy it from matrixtv and adjust what you need.

If users would make much more feedback it would be great. Without this everything is just a guess. I assume there are NO users of this platform.
You can help me buy new work notebook with paypal donation, after 8 years it's time to upgrade.
