DVB-C usb stick no frontend was attached

Postby vblack » Mon Oct 14, 2013 11:24 pm

Hello, I have a problem with DVB-C usb stick.
First of all after following instructions I got nothing. Then I discovered that this is because according to lsusb I have:
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 734c:dc01 TBS Technologies China, whic does not supported by tbsdvbc.c, so I modified it to allow also dc01 device id for this driver.
After reboot I have more progress, it is found device in cold state, loads firmware, etc. But lsusb now reports that I have 734c:dc02 device.
Totally picture looks fine, except "no frontend was attached"
Code: Select All Code

[    7.939629] dvb-usb: TBS DVBC USB2.0 successfully initialized and connected.

Do you have any suggestions what need to be fixed?

I am using:

One small addition.
After device became "734c:dc02" it will survive system reboot, but on clean shutdown/wait/startup it will again become
"Bus 001 Device 004: ID 734c:dc01 TBS Technologies China" till firmware loaded...

device with ID "dc01" is not supported in Linux - it's an old hardware for which you did not provide Linux support. so, there is nothing much that can be done - you need device with ID "dc02" in order to use it in Linux.

Anyway thank you for reply.
I will still try lo get it working under linux, because it is working fine on Windows for me, and I am developer. If you could just point me to some major differences between ID "dc01" and ID "dc02" - it would be great, if not - it is ok. :)
