Hi,

is anyone able to compile an update for TVHeadend? I enounter a strange bug in current firmware version (https://tvheadend.org/issues/3433) and it's possible that this is fixed already or the TBS drivers have serious problems with transponder tuning.

Beside that: Can anybody tell me how to setup my own cross-compiling environment to generate new tvheadend versions myself?

Thanks,
Dan

i think Astra Cesbo is more suitable for usage than tvheadend or vdr.
It is more lightweight and easier to use ... not to mention that the development is active especially on Moi Pro and Moi Pro AMD

Full documentation https://cesbo.com/en/astra/docs/
How to install

1. Connect to the MOI with SSH.
2. Download binary file from the main page for specific platform ARM or x86
3. Set execute permission: chmod +x astra
4. Move to system path: mv astra /usr/bin/astra
Astra is ready.

About autostart for MOI Pro: http://info.cesbo.co...icles/202211322

Next create directory for scripts: mkdir /etc/astra
In scripts you may write configuration to receive channels. Examples: http://info.cesbo.co...icles/202347262

Dan, thanks for providing this link.

I have the same problem with the same setup as you (moi pro +6982SE) and have been really angry not figuring out what's causing it.
I've been trying different subsets of predefined mux-sets (as the one provided is not working correctly either), manually scannig, working with discqc configs as sirius is more affected than thor in my case, etc.

TBS - please fix this problem and also review your quality assurance process.

Jessej, thanks that even 1 person is answering.
This board seems to be a support grave, my anger is more and more against this ridicolous bad software support TBS is delivering for a near 500 EUR device!

This whole MOI devices seems to be a 1 man only show, otherwise I cannot understand why questions are completely ignored and updates are simply unable to run cause of missing librarys.

Also update scripts completely wiping settings without even asking are a real pain and no sign for a working QA process... :-/

With this in mind this will be my last TBS device I guess, sorry guys...

Dan

I know your feeling and yes, it sure feels like a one man show.

An ironic part is that when I bought my first tv card chose TBS due to their openess and linux support (they even put MytTV on their homepage). Had a struggle with compiling the drivers and tainting the kernel (always some problems with libs, cc, loading etc) so I finally decided to purchase my way away from the problems by getting the MOI Pro - one company controlling the entire appliance, what could go wrong?
-sigh-

Thank you, jessej and dan3o3, for this useful and timely information. I was all set to order an MOI Pro this week, but if it doesn't support TVheadend properly, it isn't going to be of much use to me.
