TBS6905 and what hardware for transcoding

Hi all,
I want to build a server for streaming DVB-S2 to up to 8 clients in my LAN.
Some clients are bound to use WLAN and I think about transcoding stream for them.

Does anyone know what hardware is needed?
I am not sure about transcoding with gpu or cpu. Would I need a dedicated graphics card (with what power?) or would a good cpu already fit my needs (like Intel Core i7 with integrated graphics)?

I need to know because we start renovating our home and I need to decide if I can stream tv over network or need to plan using common coax cables and set top boxes.

Thank you.
Kind regards,
Christian

Hi clang

For transcode it is not cheap ,you can have a try this free solution,
you can using tvheadend which support transcode version ,using a powerfull CPU such as i7 .

for pay solution you can have a look xtream-code soft which support transcode.

Thanks

Kind regards

steven

Install Cat 6 in your house. All my RG6 coax has been replaced by Cat 6 for the same system you have described.
