7220: which module?

Postby quby » Mon Nov 23, 2015 9:09 pm

Hi all!

I just bought this card and I wanna use it with tvheadend in a mint/ubuntu server (same issue). My lspci output is:

Code: Select All Code
quby-mint# lspci -v
02:00.0 Multimedia controller: Philips Semiconductors SAA7160 (rev 03)
        Subsystem: Device 7220:0001
        Physical Slot: 0
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 10
        Memory at feb00000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=1M]
        Capabilities: [40] MSI: Enable- Count=1/32 Maskable- 64bit+
Capabilities: [50] Express Endpoint, MSI 00
Capabilities: [74] Power Management version 2
        Capabilities: [80] Vendor Specific Information: Len=50 <?>
        Capabilities: [100] Vendor Specific Information: ID=0000 Rev=0 Len=088 <?>

I downloaded the latest driver package from here:http://www.tbsdtv.com/download/document/common/tbs-linux-drivers_v151105.zip , and I followed the instructions from here http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/TBS6284. I used the ./v4l/tbs-x86_64.sh script at the begining. The compileing and install ran withut error, but the end I don't know which is the correct module for my card, and none of them worked what I tried. Itried with a saa716x_core, but I get an error:

Code: Select All Code
quby-mint linux-tbs-drivers # modprobe -v saa716x_core
insmod /lib/modules/3.13.0-37-generic/kernel/drivers/media/common/saa716x/saa716x_core.ko
modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'saa716x_core': Invalid argument

So please help, which is the correct module for me?

Ok!

If I use both tbs-x86_64.sh and tbs-dvbc-x86_64.sh script at the begining, then compiled correctly and after reboot the saa716x_core module load correctly, but the card still doesn't work. If I want to make a scan with w_scan I get an error message (no available cable tuner present, or something like that). Reboot again, then the scan run correctly, but nothing find. Reboot again, then error message again. :( If the module loaded correctly I see the /dev/dvb/adapter0 device, and the tvheadend see the card as TBS62x1 but no channels found

What if I trying on windows?

I tried DVBviewer, TBSviewer, and DVBdream. The TBSviewer not work at all, the best was DVBviewer, so Itried that.
The situation on win is much better cause I saw a working Tvbroadcast, but it's very random.
I scan the 135500kHz SR:6000 b:256 (here is 2 channel in my country 1HD and 1SD) nothing found. Scan again, nothing found. Scan again, 2 channels found 8-) yeeeah. Great!!!! Let see the channels....Nothing. :( Try again: It works like a charm! Switch off the computer, and retry 30 minutes later. Doesn't work again. scan again, nothing found. Scan again, 2 channels found! And so on.... :(
So scan, and the founded channels sometimes works, then disappear, then works again, absolute randomly.

Solution? Or mabye an idea for solution. I'm out of ideas....I'm sad.... :(
