TBS 6909 ubuntu 14.04

Postby domini » Tue Nov 07, 2017 10:17 pm

Hello TBS support team, first of all I would like to say that I need your help a lot, I have a tbs6985 and a tbs6909, I'm using ubuntu server 14.04 (Linux IPTVHEADEND 4.4.0-31-generic #50~14.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jul 13 01:07:32 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux) and I already tried to install using open source drivers and tbs drivers. when I installed using open source the system detected the board with the command dmesg | grep fron, but after restarting the system detected no more! I need to know in which linux distribution the TBS cards work perfectly, because I am building headend . If it is possible and necessary, I give you access to the computer so that you can analyze what can be done. I also have a moi that was even the first product I bought from you and need to reinstall firmware. Thank you and I await your response. I know that you (Bob, Steven & James) are serious people and will help me. thanks

Hi

When you reboot your PC check whether you have update the kernel ,the system default setting the kernel will auto update ,
after kernel update you need to reinstall the driver again as the file already changed .

You can using these command to disable the kernel update :

open the file /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/10periodic and change
APT::Periodic::Update-Package-Lists "1";
to
APT::Periodic::Update-Package-Lists "0";

#apt-mark hold linux-image-generic linux-headers-generic

Thanks

Kind Regards

Hi steven,

I really need some help. I bought some TBS 6909 cards and i become no signal in Unicable mode in Astra. Of course the config file added with mode2, but the problem still stay. I have no idea, maybe driver issue, while in the same server i have already used TBS 6904 card without any problem, just not as Unicable. I really glad if somebody has a good idea, or can solve the problem via ssh or astra login. Regards, Formaster
