using 8 tuners on the 6909

Postby RobCee » Tue Dec 20, 2016 10:17 pm

Hi,

Could someone please give me a little information regarding the 6909 card please?

I understand that this card can use 8 tuners from 4 feeds, but is this only if you connect it to a quattro lnb? Or can you use a quad lnb and still use 8 tuners?

I am looking to get the MOI Pro AMD along with two TBS6909 cards, but if I need quattro lnb for each card does that mean I would need two dishes with two quattro lnbs?

Any help and/or advice would be much appreciated.

Also if it helps, they will be connected to Astra2 for UK freesat services so all to the same satellite just different frequency/transponders.

Thanks,
Rob

you can use a quad lnb and watch 8 different transponders, or 8 channels (or more if channels on same transponders). (you don't need quattro)

you shouldn't need 2x quad lnbs.. you could probably just split them with splitters as long as the same feed goes to the exact same input on both cards.. of course this may reduce signal quality wihout an amp.
or get an octo lnb

you could also use a multiswitch.

Thank you for your reply.

I now have my TBS6909 installed on a linux tower server for trying it out and all seems to be fine, thanks.
