TBS6909X unicable or wideband lnb

Postby jku131 » Wed Aug 26, 2020 8:40 pm

Hello, I have a question about tbs6909x, i have only two cable from my satellite antenna and htpc with satellite tuner. How i can connect it to tbs to record 8 or 4 different transponders? I was planning to replace my current lnb with unicable lnb but i can't find any information how to connect it to tbs6909x i know that for tbs6909 its possible to connect it to input 3 and it should work, but for version tbs6909x i can't find any information about in user guide its showed to user 4 cables which i don't understand how it is unicable? I also read on tbs site in specification of tbs6909x "Main Features: Support wide band", so if unicable will not work can i replace my lnb with wide band lnb and record 8 transponders simultaneously? If yes how i should connect the cables and how i should setup stid135 options in modprobe?

Hi Sir

Thanks for your update , if you want to use 6909x or 6909 best using quad LNB then you are able locking all transponder VL VH HL HH

Thanks

Hi,
unfortunately i can't use quad LNB because i only have two cables between my tuner and satellite dish, i read more about wideband LNB and I think it will not work with TBS6909X.
Because tbs have frequency range 950 - 2150 MHz and wideband LNB have frequency range 300 - 2350 MHz. So only solution for this, is to use unicable LNB.

If i will buy unicable lnb should i just connect it to input 3 on TBS6909X or should i use analog splitter and connect it to every input?

Hi Sir

Even you use unicable you will need 4 cable input for the unicable to if you are using ku dual band it need VL VH HL HH 4 cables signal input
and can not use normal splitter need to use special device check this picture :
