6909 issue - 1 tuner has error,

6909 issue - 1 tuner has error,

Postby snailbrain » Fri May 20, 2016 9:04 am

I've just received my card in quick time from tbs

i've installed the drivers successfully on ubuntu 14.04 server

when i do lsdvb i get >

Code: Select All Code
lsdvb

lsdvb: Simple utility to list PCI/PCIe DVB devices
                Version: 0.0.4
                Copyright (C) Manu Abraham

TBS PCIE (544:6178 6909:1) on PCI Domain:0 Bus:3 Device:0 Function:0
        DEVICE:0 ADAPTER:4 ERROR: Open frontend0 failed

is this normal? ignored the error and installed tvheadend..

also note i enabled mode 0

in tvheadend i don't seem to have the control over the 4th tuner? (so i can't set diseqc etc for it to be a master tuner, and then use tuner 5 as it's slave)

Image

any ideas?

missing lots of channels after leaving it scanning with the 2 working tuners overnight

do i need to enable linked input on tvheadend?

any tips on settings i need to use? --

my setup consists of :
28.2e, 19.2e,13e - quad lnb on each
all go to 4x disqec switches
the output from each switch go to 6909 in mode 0.

The setup works fine on my TBS dual tuner (6982) and TT-budget S2-4100, and have done for a couple of years.

I suspect you have a set-up problem. Your set-up of TVH looks different that what I have, but I am in Canada. Try the following: In the "Sat config" drop-down menu where you have "4-port switch", change that to "Advanced (non-universal LNBs, rotors, etc.)". Press "save". Then in the new directory that appears, in "Orbital positions:" put "1". Press "save". In the new directory that appears, choose the "LNB type" to that which exactly matches your lnb. (I am using HTS Tvheadend 4.1-1363~ga46818c)

thanks for the reponse

i can do this but what about adapter 4 and 5, none of them have the option yet they are supposed to share the same input. i should have the option to select satellite config for one of them (adapter 4).
I wonder if adapter 4 is faulty.. although i'm also having issue tunning as well.

any help greatly appreciated.

i'm using HTS Tvheadend 4.1-2051~gc514879~trusty

i just at least sorted what looked a bit of a weird list of tuners..

i reinstalled tvh it all shows "normal" for what i am used to.
I will now set every other tuner as a slave and let you know.

The issue was because i installed tvheadend and tbs drivers, and then swapped to Mode 0 from Mode 1.. this probably caused some confusion to TVH.

seems to look ok now

we'll see how far i get tuning the 3 satellites now :)

(note, i still have the error in lsdvb)

ahh, after setting master and slave tuners, it defaults to that look after you restart the service (or maybe even refresh the page completely)
