Invalid Stream Information TBS-2603 + TBS-2603 SE (TBS-8510)

Hi Guys,

we have a big issue with us customers with tbs-2603 + tbs-2603 SE Boxes.
Thats a big show stopper for us customers. We have more than 100 encoders tbs-2603 and 30 encoders tbs-2603 SE.
Looks like the last, us tbs-8510 Pro. This make all correct and fine.

So, we need urgent a Firmware Update for tbs-2603 + tbs-2603 SE with correct stream data information !
Please help us...

TBS-2603:

Stream #0:1: Video: h264 (Main), yuvj420p(pc, bt709, progressive), 1280x720, 47 tbr, 1k tbn
Stream #0:2: Audio: aac (LC), 48000 Hz, stereo, fltp

Missing bitrate, missing fps, and tbr 47 are false and missing complete audio bitrate!. The Encoder Settings are 3000kb/s + 50fps.

With the SE Edition the bitrate are false -> 3072 (Expected 3000), frame rate shows 25 but the Encoder ist set to 50, and the tbr are false (expected 50).
Additional issue ist the audio kbs. It shows 49kb/s, but we have set 192 in Encoder.

Hi,
What's kind of Decoder/Media player you're using now? it seems frame rate and audio/video bitrate information is not the decisive factor for a Decoder.

What's about your use? can you provide more detailed about your use? Encoder to Decoder/Media player directly or there's a middleware between Encoder and Decoder?
If no bitrate/frame rate information or information incorect, your Decoder does not decode Encoder stream?

Hi @daowei,

We analyze direct the RTMP stream from your TBS Encoder. It is not a decoder issue.

ffmpeg shows for tbs-2603 and tbs-2603SE false informations (only TBS 8510 Pro work well).

Now, we have the problem, that many customers say to us, the FPS and Bitrate are incorrect in the RTMP streams. With RTMP streams we mean the tbs output stream.

In other case we ingest your tbs tmp stream to Wowza Streaming engine, and play out via RTMP or HLS to us customers. Here we have the same issue. The FPS and Bitrate Information still false (come from your tbs encoders). Wowza don't change any stream informations and delivery the data comes from your encoders. Thats right. We cannot use a transcoder on Wowza for over 100 streams.

We have the problem now, that actually 12 Customers say us, the stream informations are incorrect or FPS AND/OR BITRATE are missing, and say "you can't work with us like that.". Thats a big problem for us.

In Fact: ffmpeg, Python, and other tools shows false Bitrate/fps informations on tbs-2603 / tbs-2603SE. The tbs-8510 are correct, so the issue must be on tbs-2603/tbs-2603SE.

What we/you can do that the stream informations are correctly ? It is really a urgent issue for us.

Next analyze. TBS-2603 set to 50 frames in Webinterface (rebooted), but the RESULT has only 25 frames.

On 2603 -> Latest: Version: 1.1.96.

Again, dear support..! Please fix that. Without correct bitrate, fps the encoder make sense for wowza, and other streaming servers ect...

If you wont't fix that, please let us know the source code, and we can create a agreement between you and us, that we fix the issues itself with us developers and *not* share any changes. Or make open the firmware as open source for the old model tbs-2603. I think also that receiver is end-of-live support, but we need urgent this changes for us more than 100 Encoders...

Hi Daowei, yes, i know. We tested also the 1.2.10. But it is the same result as my first thread here.

No Bitrate is showing, the frame rate are false with 47tbr, and the Audio bitrate is missing too.

The 'custom' firmware 1.2.10 show the same result as the 1.1.96. Have you tested ?
