HDMI 2nd stream not working (TBS2603)

I tried all possible combinations of parameters to set the second stream (HDMI 2nd) on the TBS2603, but none works. Firmware is version 1.0.39. VLC never finds the second stream network address, even though the same VLC works perfectly with the first stream (HDMI main). Were you able to get the second stream to work with this box and firmware?

Hi DrCool can you post a screen capture of your HDMI 1st and 2nd configuration?

Kind regards.

Hi Sergio, thanks for your help. Standard settings, please see the pics attached. When I open the first stream with VLC it works fine, but with the address of the second stream I get the following message:

Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'http://192.168.1.168:8090/hdmi_ext'. Check the log for details.

I also used the "Reset" button on the "System Settings" tab and rebooted many times with no effect. Tried to downgrade the firmware but apparently it isn't possible. I didn't test the previous versions of the firmware so I don't know if it worked with previous versions.

I just observed after opening the second stream url with Firefox that a stream is being produced by the second engine, but analysis of the stream contents shows that it only contains AAC audio, see the picture attached. This is why I cannot watch it with VLC: the stream is lacking video content.

Tried a hard reset with the reset pin button, but it didn't help either.

Interesting news: I was able to downgrade the firmware to 1.0.12 using Chrome (Firefox 64 seems to not be fully compatible with the web interface) and finally the 2nd stream is working! Then I re-upgraded the software to 1.0.27 and 1.0.39 (using Chrome to make sure it was not a Firefox problem) and the 2nd stream stopped working with both. So it's definitively a software and not a hardware problem! TBS, please fix the 2nd stream on the next firmware release.

Hi Jessie, thanks for this FW version 1.0.32. Unfortunately it doesn't help: as with versions 1.0.27 and 1.0.39 the 2nd stream produces an unreadable stream that only has AAC audio and no video. Version 1.0.32 allows me to hike up the main stream to 12000 kbps without video stuttering, while in the latest version 1.0.39 video will stutter when its speed is set above 3000 kbps. Versions before 1.0.39 however, and despite the better video quality, introduce annoying gaps in the audio, which tend to occur every 1 to 10 seconds depending on the video or moment. In conclusion, version 1.0.39 remains the most watchable among all that I tested, keeping mind that the video stream needs to remain below 3000 kbps and that the 2nd stream isn't working.
