Hi,

We setup a TBS3630 to provide remote access for development and test teams for manual and automated testing of STB development.

I'm looking for some support as the automated test development team have been seeing an issue where they cannot connect to the encoder output.
Note: The encoder http interface is responsive and a manual reboot recovers.
I don't have full details on the frequency of the issue as seen by another team, I know its occurred several times over the last few months of use. There haven't been reports from manual users yet, so I suspect its the high frequency of connect and disconnect to the devices triggering the problem.

I managed to take a look at one when it reproduced, some additional information:-

The encoder was configured for http. When accing via VLC I saw the following error:-
Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'http://x.x.x.x:8080/hdmi'. Check the log for details

Note: I turned on logs for VLC but it generates nothing.

Additionally I tried changing the mode to rtsp to see if that worked / recovered.
VLC still failed with:-
Connection failed:Connection failed:VLC could not connect to "x.x.x.x:554".Your input can't be opened:VLC is unable to open the MRL 'rtsp://x.x.x.x:554/hdmi'. Check the log for details.

Easyplayer failed with:-
2021/01/28 12:33:29 Connecting: rtsp://x.x.x.x:554/hdmi ... 2021/01/28 12:33:31 Error: rtsp://x.x.x.x:554/hdmi£º EasyRTSP_GetErrCode£º-10057 :Failed to get RTSP OPTIONS: Connection to server failed: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it

I tried swapping back to http, that still didn't recover. A reboot as previously stated did recover the device.

Firstly is there any logs or details I can provide to feedback on the cause?
I couldn't see anything from the device interface. If its possible to improve reliability then that would be good.

Is there anything that you can recommend or assist on to detect and recover automatically?
E.g. is there an API we can access to command line reboot the device?

Thanks in adv.
