Does the 6980 tuner suffer from poor sensitivity?

Hi there,
I've been using my 6980 for tuning into some channels on Hotbird 13.0E and 19.2E Astra with good success but sometimes Italian station Canale 5 would prove problematic. Recently, I decided to use tuner A to tune into 28.2 E Eurobird1/ Astra 2A2B2D to get FreeSat channels. I can only tune into a handful of channels and many would give poor signal quality but good signal strength (Tiny Pop being a good example). I tried also using Tuner B and various software (TBS viewer, MediaPortal, ProgDVB, ProgFinder). Sometimes the channel would tune in for a few seconds and then freeze, with quality dropping from say 69% to suddenly 5%. However, using same dish, LNB & cables fed into my SKY+ box, I can tune into all stations without problem. Is it possible that the Sky box has a more sensitive tuner? (SKY boxes have a reputation of being cheap, low quality affairs).
