Thanks for that okbet. I see it's now posted on the TBS download page. Yay!!! :D

Still wondering about the latest Win7 driver. I've occasionally had the freeze up problem (described in one of the posts below). Does anyone know if the 6981 driver here will work with the 6980? Is this the release version of the 2.0.0.1 driver? Hopefully the lock up behaviour will have been corrected in the latest driver.

Thanks,

John.

no and no;

please, be patient, there are reasons why we still haven't released driver architecture 2.x as official update - indeed it solves the problem with crashes when both tuners are in use simultaneously, but we want to improve other things before release it.

Yay!!! :D

The latest driver (2.0.0.4) has finally been released. It's available here: http://www.buydvb.net/download2/TBS6980/TBS6980Driver_V2.0.0.4.rar for download.

Wonder if the freeze-ups have been fixed?

it's with new driver architecture 2.x, which is confirmed by customers that no more freezes/crashes under any circumstances

actually, here:

http://www.tbsdtv.com/english/product/6980.html

there is something like 'release notes' about this new driver versions:

Code: Select All Code
2. TBS6980 driver was updated to V2.0.0.4 which fixes all known issues:
Add workaround for resume from sleep (standby) issues in Windows 7 Media Center, fix for computer freezes/crashes under some circumstances when both tuners are simultaneously in use, new signal quality  calculation that allows better adjustment of the dish.

and also on the front-page of the website:

Code: Select All Code
29.TBS6981/6980 driver was updated to V2.0.0.4 which fixes all known issues. Please download it at product page or download page. 2010-08-26

maybe we should announce it better and open separate thread in the forum for feedback, because it's major driver release that makes operation of TBS 6980 in Windows trouble free.

?!

what you mean? what are those issues? we're not aware of any problems with the linux driver, not to mention that they are used by many IPTV provider companies running 6980 cards on 24/7 basis without any trouble reports.

hi Sami,

i read your thread about it:

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=77

and your e-mail too, but that is not an issue with the drivers, but some mixed up in the application and settings you're using. i will elaborate more in the above forum thread.

regards,
cody
