Card not seen in Debian

Card not seen in Debian

Postby UKenGB » Sun Jun 13, 2021 2:57 am

It was seen and I installed the drivers ok and have been using it for a couple of months. Then we had a power cut, i.e. power to the whole house died so the computers all crashed of course.

I didn't try to re-start that PC for a few days and then discovered the card was not being seen at all. Not in BIOS setup screens, nor with lspci. Needless to say /dev/dvb is not created.

I tried removing and replacing the card, I moved it to a different PCI slot, but it is now never seen.

Is this card simply broken and dead? I've seen another few threads about cards that seem to have simply died. I cannot imagine why cutting power like that would damage it, but it was working perfectly before then and now, it's dead.

Any suggestions from anyone?
