TBS 6981 and Ubuntu 16.04

On my old machine, I complied the drivers from your website on Ubuntu 14.04, which worked well, but had the disadvantage in needing to compile the driver whenever the Kernel was updated. I've now upgraded to Ubuntu 16.04 which appears to some built in support for the TBS 6981 card:

Code: Select All Code
dmesg | grep frontend

cx23885_dvb_register() allocating 1 frontend(s)
i2c i2c-8: cx24117: Attaching frontend 0
cx23885 0000:02:00.0: DVB: registering adapter 0 frontend 0 (Conexant CX24117/CX24132)...
cx23885_dvb_register() allocating 1 frontend(s)
i2c i2c-8: cx24117: Attaching frontend 1
cx23885 0000:02:00.0: DVB: registering adapter 1 frontend 0 (Conexant CX24117/CX24132)...

If restore the original /home/hts and attempt to tune into something with tvheadend using Kodi, I get No free adapter available in Kodi, and the following from the Kernel:

Code: Select All Code
cx23885 0000:02:00.0: DVB: adapter 1 frontend 0 frequency 0 out of range (950000..2150000)
cx23885 0000:02:00.0: DVB: adapter 0 frontend 0 frequency 0 out of range (950000..2150000)
cx23885 0000:02:00.0: DVB: adapter 1 frontend 0 frequency 0 out of range (950000..2150000)
cx23885 0000:02:00.0: DVB: adapter 0 frontend 0 frequency 0 out of range (950000..2150000)

If I delete /home/hts tvheadend is unable to find any services.

Are my problems from using the driver supplied with Ubuntu? Solutions or direction for new lines of investigation much appreciated.

Just a quick update. I followed the instructions on this website to extract the device firmware from TBS linux driver https://github.com/ljalves/linux_media/wiki/CX24117-firmware. This uses an old version of the driver (I tried with the latest version, but the dd command isn't extracting the right part). I can now get SD channels working, but tvheadend is failing to display HD channels. I'm going to try with a clean tvheadend configuration.
