Drivers lost every reboot

Drivers lost every reboot

Postby GrahamChimp » Sat Mar 14, 2015 11:18 pm

Hi All,

Please forgive if this question has been covered somewhere else or has a simple answer! I've lived with this problem for about 2 years so its more of an irritation than a real problem. I am not an expert in Linux but with a little coaching can usually get things to work.

I have a 6981 running with TVHeadend / XBMC setup on Ubuntu Server 12.04. 90% of the time everything works perfectly. But occasionally when I reboot the card is not found, re-install of the drivers fixes everything but its a little frustrating? why is this? - I suspect its Ubuntu update related and not a problem with drivers but could someone confirm this for me? Also if there is a simple way to stop this it would be handy.

Thanks

just reinstall your ubuntu and dont choose automatic ubuntu update

cause in every reboot you update your ubuntu kernel

good luck
