i believe end of this month. in fact i'm finalizing the Linux drivers and testing Windows driver for what i believe is going to be burnt on the installation CD and so it should be released soon for sure.

Apparently the TBS 6921 has been released, at least it can be ordered. Before considering purchasing the TBS 6921, I'd like to know how Blind Scan is performed. Is it integrated in the application or is there a separate tool for blind scan? Are there any screen shots available and what about the performance?

Regards
Steve

Steve, we provide our own tool for blind-scan, which is separate application. however, blind-scan feature is still under development and you can think of it as feature in beta stage. currently, satellite with a lot of transponders takes about 5-7 minutes to be scanned, but we believe with driver and software updates we will be able to reach better performance in the future, because blind-scan is done in the hardware.

Cody, thx for the answer ;) Could you be a little more specific about the frequency step width and the lowest SR (DVB-S and S2) for a possible lock? Can the found carrier parameters be exported to the main application and/or viewed directly by your blind-scan tool?

TBS 6921 supports symbol-rate of 1-45 MS/s for both DVB-S (QPSK) and DVB-S2 (NBC QPSK and 8PSK).

all carrier parameters can be viewed directly by our blind-scan tool and we're planning to provide export option too.

anyway, i will just make screenshots of the tool and post them here - i believe that way it will be completely clear.

..still waiting ;) In the meantime I have an idea to enhance the usability of the blindscan function. Could you add a simple spectrum analyzer (e.g. the envelope as a function of the AGC would do) to your tool?

Regards,
Steve

@cody:

Is it also possible to post a link to the blind scan tool if it is not "secret" of course :) I don't mind if there are errors or it is still a development version, I am sure users will be very interested in testing the BS function.
