TBS6921 BS Tool problem with switching LNBs

TBS6921 BS Tool problem with switching LNBs

Postby Nenya » Wed Apr 27, 2011 12:05 am

I use TBS6921 BS Tool ver. 3.0.0.1 with Inverto Twin Monoblock LNB (set for Hotbird 13E and Astra 19.2E) and TBS 6921 driver ver. 2.0.0.5. When I wanted to do a blindscan for Hotbird, everything was OK - I set Diseqc A and the program searched for transponders. Switching for another satellite does not work, regardless of the selected Diseqc (B, C or D). The program doesn't switch between LNBs and scanned is Hotbird only, not the Astra. Is it possible to fix this issue in the next version of BS Tool?

Today TBS team released new version of TBS BS Tool (3.0.0.2) but this version has the same error as previous release. :(

I am using the Blind Scan tool with the 5921 (qbox III) and have the same issue.
Diseqc switching does not appear to work with the tool. Switching works fine with DVBdream, and Smart DVB.
The Blind Scan tool will work if I bypass the switch and connect the LNB directly to the QBox.

It appears the problem is still there.

My setup consists of the QBox 3 connected to a 4 port diseqc.
Port A is a stationary Cband dish.
Port B is a motorized KU dish with a standard linear LNB and SG2100.
This setup works flawlessly in Smart DVB. I should note that navigating to "Tools" menu then "Device settings" and selecting "Prof tuners" as the "diseqc mode" for the bda device settings, is the only setting I was able to use to get the setup switching properly within Smart DVB.

I downloaded the new Blind Scan program provided in the link above.

I disconnected my Cband dish from diseqc switch and left the KU dish connected to port B in order to simplify the test.

When I scan either H or V polarities with the diseqc set to port B, I obtain 0 results.

I physically disconnected the switch from my setup and set the diseqc to Null in the settings.

Now when I perform a scan, I receive 13 V transponders and 12 H transponders.

The only difference between the scans is the physical removal of the diseqc switch and setting the Blind scan program to Null to reflect this change.

As a side note, If I run a scan with the disecq swtich, the program set to "port B" and polarity set to "All" instead of either H or V, I receive a popup message at the end of the first polarity scan that says "don't support this interface".
If I run the scan with no diseqc switch, the setting set to "Null", and the polarity set to "ALL", the scan will not complete until you press the StopBS button.

BIOS is up to date!
I don't know either why it's such a problem with this TV tuner.
My previous TBS6920 used to work well after standby, even with the same hardware settings. Only thing the TBS6920 couldn't handle, when other receivers were used, it lost vertical channels.
The TBS6921 works well with other receivers, but I can't use it after standby. Which makes the tuner unusable for scheduled recordings.
Hmm, if you really can't find out how to solve this problem, then maybe I should send it back and get another tuner.
Will give DD Cines2 a try.
