hello. TBS

i am new to this forum . I want some clearifcations about 6925 card .
By the specs the card look great .

I have twinhan 1020a running from last 5 years .now I want to upgrade my pc to dvb s2 .

I have in mind to get 6925 and 5922 usb .

As 5922 dosent support 16apsk and 32apsk

6925 supports both .but it is having a high price .

There is a another card from dvbworld 2006 pci e with almost same specs .with montage ds3000 demodulator .seems to be good

But its price is 3/4 th less than your card .

I am in confusion to buy witch one ?

Can any one give the details of both . Specs and suppopt of two cards
pros and cons
want to buy

thanks

montage tuner/demods is garbage :) low sensitivity and only CCM/Transport stream supported. so 16/32APSK support only nominal capability ant can't be applicable in real world :) and blindscan feature in montage ds3k demod not compareble with stv090x :) slow, very slow :) and dvbworld devices is really garbage :)

I was in confusion so asked help .but i dint got quick answer .

I was in hurry .now i am twisting my fingers .

I should hit my head myself to rock ,becouse not wait for answer form experts like you .

Only Ccm means . There is no acm and vcm fec . In montage chip . So this card cannot dance with DATA transponders.

So finally i am going to get garbage hardware for 110 dollers

now i am ditched hard

any how thanks for your promt and detailed answer

thanks for steven and crazycat.

@vishvish - I would think of paying twice a price to get 6925 instead...

For 'real dancing' with DATA transponders (ACM/VCM, generic continous) you need TBS6925. Because not only need demod which capable receive this, but also media-bridge must support passing stream in frame mode. Only TBS6925 V2.x can pass frame-mode stream (SAA7160ET bridge and maybe some special IC for adaptation stream).

Old cards with STV090x demods + CX2388x, SAA7146 bridges support only trasport stream (DVB 188-bytes or DSS 131-byte, depend from driver). So i have some prototype card with STV0900AAC demod (same used in TBS6925) and 'old-school' SAA7164 bridge (used since 1999 year, in SkyStar 1 for example) and this device can't receive frame-mode stream.
