i see, it seems we have to investigate and research this, because reading it in hardware will be done again via I2C and the overhead could be significant.

hi, recently i answered similar question sent to euro_support@tbsdtv.com and let me share it here:

Code: Select All Code
actually all TBS cards support all Diseqc version and in fact if Diseqc version and configuration works or not depends primary on the software application, i believe explanation i wrote in our forum here:

http://www.buydvb.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=39&start=10#p213

and the whole topic in general:

http://www.buydvb.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=39

would be very helpful to you and give you more information what i mean.

so, in short - DiSEqC 1.1 should work as far as DVB application sends the correct Diseqc commands and so it may require some effort until DVB application is setup with the proper settings for that.

It looks like italian broadcaster have changed parameters on Hot Bird. On Prof 7301 I've got no signal now (before I had unstable signal).

Have anybody know what happened?

Plans to support the Linux DVB API? Perhaps I missed it elsewhere in the forum, but only saw mention of Windows drivers and applications.

there is Linux driver available for TBS 6925, but due to some limitations of the Linux DVB API not all advanced features are supported. also, the driver is fully open-source under GPL license.
