Sergio -

Did you get the driver working? If so what is your build environment, I'm having trouble with unknown symbols in saa716x_core under stock Fedora 15 2.6.38.8.32.

Thanks -

Johnny

Yes, it's working with kernel 2.6.39-1 in Debian Sid. And works with kernel 2.6.38-2 too
But with same changes to compile:
Look this, it's part of an e-mail sended to tbs support:

----------------------
First, linux/smp_lock.h not found.

I put in linux/include/linux/smp_lock.h
------------------------------------------
#ifndef __LINUX_SMPLOCK_H
#define __LINUX_SMPLOCK_H

/*#include <linux/config.h>*/

#ifndef CONFIG_SMP

#define lock_kernel() do { } while(0)
#define unlock_kernel() do { } while(0)
#define release_kernel_lock(task, cpu) do { } while(0)
#define reacquire_kernel_lock(task) do { } while(0)
#define kernel_locked() 1

#else

/*#include <asm/smplock.h>*/

#endif /* CONFIG_SMP */

#endif
------------------------------------------

Next error...
v4l/saa7134-i2c.c:342: error: unknown field 'id' specified in initializer

My solution? Comment line 342
/* .id = I2C_HW_SAA7134, */

With this I compile the driver..
Then: checkintall -D (Debian Sid)

But missing directories in linux headers...

#mkdir -P /lib/modules/2.6.39-1-amd64/kernel/drivers/media/common/saa716x/
#mkdir -P /lib/modules/2.6.39-1-amd64/kernel/drivers/media/IR/keymaps/
#mkdir -P /lib/modules/2.6.39-1-amd64/kernel/drivers/media/video/usbvideo/
#mkdir -P /lib/modules/2.6.39-1-amd64/kernel/drivers/media/video/ovcamchip
#mkdir -P /lib/modules/2.6.39-1-amd64/kernel/drivers/media/video/zc0301/

#dpkg --force-overwrite -i linux-tbs_20110601-1_amd64.deb

And... Enjoy!
-----------------------------

Can you paste the errors here?

So I'm running Fedora 15 - 2.6.38 - First problem is

/tbs/67/linux-tbs-drivers/v4l/cx25840-ir.c:1254:3: error: implicit declaration of function 'kfree' [-Werror=implicit-function-declaration]
cc1: some warnings being treated as errors

make[3]: *** [/tbs/67/linux-tbs-drivers/v4l/cx25840-ir.o] Error 1
make[2]: *** [_module_/tbs/67/linux-tbs-drivers/v4l] Error 2
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/kernels/2.6.38.8-32.fc15.i686'
make[1]: *** [default] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/tbs/67/linux-tbs-drivers/v4l'
make: *** [all] Error 2

So I comment out in the v4l/.config the line for the CX25840.

make
make install

on reboot (autoload of modules) , or via modprobe:
modprobe saa716x-core or modprobe saa716x_tbs-dvb
FATAL: Error inserting saa716x_core (/lib/modules/2.6.38.8-32.fc15.i686/kernel/drivers/media/common/saa716x/saa716x_core.ko): Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)

dmesg reports:

[93840.741415] saa716x_core: Unknown symbol spi_register_master (err 0)

That's where I am right now...
