new qbox3 - no signal?

Ive just bought a new qbox3, and am having issues trying to get any signal on it.

Heres the list of my complete setup..

htpc - win7 x64 bit

18month old foxtel satellite dish and lnb rated at 10700 and foxtel iq

qbox3 is plugged in, red light is on.

ive tried dvbviewer, tbsviewer and progdvb

drivers are the latest drivers from tbs website.

the 1560.ini file in the transponders directory is as follows: - ive also tried autogenerating latest ones from some website as well

interestingly, if I open the tbs-ip tools software, you can see the signal strength and quality levels it just bounces between around 30% and 0% - goes back and forth - quality is always 0

it seems like there is absolutely no signal being received by the qbox..
Ive tried 2 different pcs, 2 different cables and 2 different wall points to the dish.
Its always the same


let me know if you have any ideas on what it might be.

id really like to get this working.

I have this same problem with my Qbox3.
When i use with win 7 have this same problems with signal.I try to change 3 convertors, 2 laptops and still lost signal---one time from TBS IP is 30%, one time 45% , one time is 90% and qualitty 0%. When is 90% i try to scan some transponders , but nothing.
This same cable with another receiver not have anithing problems.
Pleace, solve that this is drivers or hardware problem.

PS Now i see that have this problems only with win7 64bit.
In win XP TP is locked and scan chanels fine

thanks for your response. so you think it must be the issue with the driver and using win7 x64??

i dont have an xp box to test on unfortunately, I am actually thinking about getting a replacement unit. wont help if its the same issue.

What driver version are you using? is there an older driver we can try out?

for XP 32bit and win7 64bit i use latest drivers 1.0.0.4 from TBS dounload area.
Need old driver to test ,that is same problems witth win7 64 bit?

ok ive done some more tests in a few virtual machines.

win xp 32 - device scans fine
win 7 32 - device scans fine
win 7 64 - no scan.

i have tried win 7 pro and ultimate, normal and sp1 as well, same issue.

it definitely seems there is an issue with the 64 bit drivers.

thanks for the links for drivers, i'll try them out later today to see if the older ones are any better.

any admins or support techs from tbs that can help us out?

ok, ive tried some of the older drivers.

it seems that both 1.0.0.1 and 1.0.0.2 work fine. i can scan the channels and watch them fine.

as soon as i try to install version 1.0.0.3 or 1.0.0.4 the device starts having the problems mentioned earlier.

so it is definitely the last two versions of driver do not work with win7 x64 properly.

Hopefully the tbs tech support can fix this on the next release of the driver.

It's been almost a month since the latest driver has been reported as not working for windows 7 64 bit.

Still no updated driver.

The latest driver to actually work is 1.0.0.2, which means there has not been an updated 64 bit driver since March.

I guess the 5921 is no longer a priority since the latest batch of junk TBS products has been released. So happy I wasted money on a product that has NEVER worked as advertised. On the plus side, I didn't waste even more money on some of the more expensive crap that this company peddles.
