TBS5922 tuning issues on high band - vertical polarity

Postby kughifar » Sun May 18, 2014 1:51 am

Hello everybody,

I recently discovered that my TBS5922 does not properly tune all available transponders.

From attached CrazyScan 1.0.1.96 reports, you can see that:
1. 13.E Hot Bird: many transponders are missing for high band - vertical polarity;
2. 19.2E Astra: same thing, missing transponders for high band - vertical polarity;
3. 19.2E Astra: signal level for low band - horizontal polarity is extremely low.

About points 1-2, it is not just CrazyScan: DVBViewer 5.2.0.0 does not tune any channel
on the missing transponders too.
I can tune and watch missing channels with a standalone receiver (Jepssen JS-4000 PVR),
so this is definitely an issue with TBS5922.
About point 3, maybe the LNB is broken -- frankly I did not check this with the JS-4000.

Any idea why this is happening? I am using a Ku-Linear LNB setup on TBS5922
(LOF1 9750 MHz, LOF2 10600 MHz, LOF Switch 11700 MHz) and the "universal LNB"
setting on JS-4000.
Acer Revo RL100 with Windows 7 SP1 64-bit, TBS5922 BDA driver version 2.0.3.2.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ferruccio

A month after my original post, with no replies...

Meanwhile, I sold my TBS5922 and I replaced it
with a TechnoTrend S2-4600, which tunes all channels
on high band - vertical polarity without problems.

Overall, the TT tunes over 200 more channels,
it runs much cooler (the case does not get hot),
its remote is more sensitive and it does not hang
after a few minutes.

Bye,

Ferruccio
