TBS5922SE Error code 10 in Windows 7

Postby Blue407 » Thu Nov 05, 2015 7:35 pm

Morning All

I have just added 2 x TBS 5922SE units to my Windows 7 x64 PC, I want to use them in WMC to watch and record live TV.
I already have a S350 PCI card already installed but need extra sequential recording capabilities.

I installed them by first downloading latest driver from your website 1.05, running the install, then plugging in one unit to start with.
Windows would not recognise the device and driver. In the end I had to go to Device Manager, manually searched for the driver and pointed it to the downloaded files. This still did not work.
After a few reboots, uninstall and reinstall the driver, plugging and unplugging the USB device I seem to have got it to recognise the driver. However it then gave ma a Code 10 error, unable to start device. Few more restarts, deleting of drivers and re installation of drivers and I seem to have got it to recognise the device.

I even tried an older driver at one point.

Now windows seems ok, but when I change channels in WMC (after a new channel scan) it seems to take ages and sometimes does not find a signal.

To me, it does not seem stable.

Have I done something wrong to get this working in Windows 7 x64?
Is there something I should have done differently?

I would not expect to have to spend over 2 hours trying to install a simple driver for this. I am concerned it's not stable and that the installation should have been really simple and easy. I presume there should not be any issues using 2 of these devices on the same PC?

Thanks in advance for help and support on this topic.

Ok, so got home last night and Windows had recovered from an unexpected error..

WMC had also crashed yet again.

There is definitely something unstable with my installation, any advice please?
If I cannot get this resolved in the next week I will have to return both these units.

I have exactly the same problem as Blue407 and can not believe that no one has an answer. I had TBS5925 and everything worked great but now I have to say that TBS5922se its nightmare for me .. In the last 5 years I have not restarted the PC many times and seen enough to blue screen as the last 10 days of purchase TBS5922se.
Please your urgent response, what is the problem with this model, is TBS5922se compatible with Windows 7 64bit?

I can only assume that nobody at TBS has responsibility for providing answers on this forum, either that or its an old product they don't care about.

I even posted on one of their other forum pages, linking to this, but it didn't generate any responses!
You only have to look at the age of the posts on this forum to realise its a 'dead' product.
