Hi,

Just got this device a couple of days ago and, after a certain amount of fiddling, got it going with both kaffeine and me-tv, i.e. I could watch TV fine :)

However, in their infinite wisdom :( ubuntu decided to have a kernel update yesterday, (to 3.19.0-30 IIRC), so I had to recompile and reinstall, (sudo make and sudo make install).

I didn't think it would be too much of a bother as I've done that many times before for other devices, (nvidia, tealtek TV cards and the like), but it's decided to mess something up :(

My device is listed when I run dmesg...

dmesg | grep dvb
[ 22.923328] dvb-usb: found a 'TBS 5922SE DVBS2 USB2.0' in cold state, will try to load a firmware
[ 23.390168] dvb-usb: downloading firmware from file 'dvb-usb-tbsqbox-id5923.fw'
[ 23.584122] dvb-usb: found a 'TBS 5922SE DVBS2 USB2.0' in warm state.
[ 23.584368] dvb-usb: will pass the complete MPEG2 transport stream to the software demuxer.
[ 23.830140] dvb-usb: MAC address: 00:22:ab:c0:38:a0
[ 24.409981] dvb-usb: schedule remote query interval to 150 msecs.
[ 24.409986] dvb-usb: TBS 5922SE DVBS2 USB2.0 successfully initialized and connected.

But then it seems to start looping something, presumably when I try and run any scans...

[ 2040.208216] [<f96e1acd>] dvb_unregister_frontend+0x9d/0xe0 [dvb_core]
[ 2040.208233] [<f96f07e3>] dvb_usb_adapter_frontend_exit+0x23/0x40 [dvb_usb]
[ 2040.208238] [<f96ef430>] dvb_usb_exit+0x40/0xe0 [dvb_usb]
[ 2040.208247] [<f96ef502>] dvb_usb_device_exit+0x32/0x50 [dvb_usb]
[ 2040.208315] [<f96f0b7f>] ? legacy_dvb_usb_read_remote_control+0xcf/0x130 [dvb_usb]

That keeps to keep running every so often.

Obviously it won't work and I can run any scans in ANY software, including the same ones as I was running before.

It's probably something obvious I've missed... any ideas? ;)
