Hello to everyone

Im an newbie trying to install linux drivers I have tryed many how to´ s but I always failed

I have ubuntu 14.04 Lts
4.4.0-148-generic #174~14.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Thu May 9 08:17:37 UTC 2019 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

and when I do

dmesg | grep frontend

nothing happens

Can anyone explain to me please what I am doing wrong?

Please have a try update the kernel to 4.16
check this

then use this pacakge :
# wget http://www.tbsdtv.com/download/document/linux/media_build-2019-11-01.tar.bz2
# sudo rm -rf /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/media/
#tar jxvf media_build-2019-11-01.tar.bz2
#cd media_build
#./install.sh
#reboot
