AltDVB DVB-T2 ok, DVB-C not

AltDVB DVB-T2 ok, DVB-C not

Postby deepbluesky » Tue Oct 04, 2022 8:22 pm

Hello everybody,

I still have the TBS 6220 and wanted to get it working in AltDVB.
Starting the BDA driver it is recognized as a DVB-T card and can tune at least into the stronger DVB-T2 frequencies here available.
Connecting to a DVB-C network I cannot scan though because AltDVB always sees a DVB-T device.

The card definitely works in both modes which I have tried with CrazyScan2 where you can set the mode as well.

What can I do ?

Best regards and thanks in advance

Hello crazycat and thanks a lot for your interest.

I am already using the latest combined driver. Otherwise I would not be able to scan with CrazyScan 2 in DVB-C mode.
So I must somehow configure AltDVB that it uses the DVB-C mode which means it has to load the 4000.tplist from \AltDVB.v24\Transponders\ but how can I do that ?

device detected as DVB-T/T2, but you can scan DVB-C (SR autodetected)

alternative is dev_streamreader interface for AltDVB 2.4 - https://www.altx.ro/forum/viewtopic.php?t=61

Great !!
I followed the steps and by adding the frequencies one by one and choosing the correct Modulation QAM256 or QAM64 here, Bandwidth 8MHz and Delivery Sys DVBC_A (although I do not understand what the difference is between DVBC_A, DVBC_B and DVBC_C) now I can scan all the frequencies.

Thank you so much.
I wish you all the best.

Best regards from Stuttgart.
