'All capable DVB devices are busy....'

Postby wimmer » Fri Feb 27, 2015 1:13 am

After a fresh install of windows 7 with all updates, when I try to run TBSviwer with a TBS6220, I get the error message 'All capable DVB devices are busy, No free device has been found,'
The device is correctly installed in Device manager.
The device and TBSviewer work PERFECTLY in another install of windows 7 (dual boot).
I have removed device from device manager and restarted at least 6 times.
any idea why TBSviewer sees the device in one installation and not another?

Media player works but no HD channels.

This device has always been problematic - looks like I will go back to hauppage again next time.

I should like to thank a forum contributor for mentioning changes involved in the upgrade of motherboard card slots. I had added a TBS 6220 DVB-T2/T tuner to a GA-H87-HD3 motherboard running Windows 7, and my favoured media player, DVBViewer Pro, repeatedly reported that hardware was not available - the TBS driver had disappeared. Whenever I started the PC, I had to re-install the card's driver and restart the PC in order to use the player.

The former contributor's solution of changing the slot did not work for me, so I upgraded the BIOS, after which the driver remained in place, though the BOOTMGR disappeared at the same time. Online advice having failed to resolve this new problem, I resorted to my WindowsImageBackup of drive C:, which worked perfectly, though I did have to remove Windows 10 malware once more. End of problem apparently.
