I have 2 servers on supermicro platform ( http://www.supermicro.com/products/moth ... 9scm-f.cfm ).
TBS 6280 doesn't work on both of it. Even lspci doesn't show any Multimedia controller. I tried to update BIOS and change linux - no luck.

P.S. With supermicro X8DTU-F works fine

Please check in your motherboard if I2C is enabled, by default is disabled. Enabling this option, your card must be recognized.

From motherboard manual, page 2-32 (58):

PCI Slot SMB Enable Wrote:Use Jumpers I2C1/I2C2 to enable PCI SMB (System Management Bus) support to improve system management for the PCI slots. See the table on the right for jumper settings.

we have seen that X9SCM-F is PCI-e 2.0 and 3.0 but our card is 1.0a
so there is some compatible problem need X9SCM-F to update it BIOS.

I already have latest bios, so will try to contact with Supermicro.

The broblem was solved, with helps of my local vendor.
There are two parameters in BIOS must be:
PCI Express Port – Gen X = Gen1
Active state power management = ForceLOs

I am sorry if I am posting in the wrong forum but I need help desperately.

I am trying to install 6991 and 6984 on Supermicro motherboard, as well. I have 2 computers with Supermicro X9DRW-iF but they do not detect the TBS cards at all. I tried in Ubuntu 12.04.1 and Windows 7 -- no luck.

I made the changes in BIOS that rickyticky posted that solved his problem but it still does not work.

We just have checked with Supermicro X9DRW-iF,it is PCI-E 3.0, Maybe they have not added PCI-E 1.0a support.
Would you mind send your detail information to Supermicro's support,We can make sure that it is the PCI-E 1.0a compatible
problem.

JFYI: Today i got this problem too. Supermicro X9DRW-iF-B doesn't see tbs6984. I have sent this information to my local vendor and waiting for reply.

Hi, my Supermicro vendor says that this cards violates PCI-Ex specification: cards have problems with "polarity inversion". Can someone from Tenow International Ltd. provide a comments about it?
