My first post and just a link to the solution I (eventually) found while reinstalling drivers for my TBS 6280 after upgrading to Ubuntu 13.04.

This Post has the solution - slightly misleading because of the reference to the 3.9 kernel (Ubuntu 13.04 is currently on the 3.8 kernel).

Only the second solution worked for me.

Might just be me but I have also found it necessary to mv the old kernel /lib/modules directories out of the way as well as the mv /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/kernel/drivers/media
the regular kernel updates are a bit of a pain.
