Can't find any services

Postby demax » Tue Oct 23, 2012 3:53 pm

Hello,

I'm running a TBS6928 card with Ubuntu Linux 12.10, kernel 3.5.0-17. Compiled and installed drivers without any problems. Drivers seem to load correctly

Code: Select All Code
[   18.353042] TurboSight TBS6928 DVB-S2 card MAC=00:22:ab:e0:2d:f3
[   18.368156] tbsci: Initializing TBS 6928 v12 CI slot
[   18.368292] tbsci: Adapter 0 CI slot initialized
[   18.368295] DVB: registering adapter 0 frontend 0 (TurboSight TBS 6928 DVBS/S2 frontend)...
[   19.166512] init: plymouth-upstart-bridge main process (753) killed by TERM signal
[   19.179804] init: lightdm main process (916) terminated with status 1
[   19.251735] init: plymouth-stop pre-start process (1179) terminated with status 1
[   25.022431] tbsci: Adapter 0 CI slot enabled
[   25.022435] dvb_ca adapter 0: DVB CAM detected and initialised successfully

The card is also detected and seem to communicate as it should with tvheadend, dvbstream and scan-s2. My problem is that I cannot find one single channel. I've manually added muxes that are supposed to be correct for my location (from http://se.kingofsat.net/pack-canaldigitalnordic.php).

This is an output from scan-s2 with the this config which should give me the Swedish public service channels:
S 11421000 H 24500000 7/8 AUTO QPSK

Code: Select All Code
API major 5, minor 3
scanning Stefan
using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0'
initial transponder DVB-S  11421000 H 24500000 7/8 AUTO QPSK
initial transponder DVB-S2 11421000 H 24500000 7/8 AUTO QPSK
----------------------------------> Using DVB-S
>>> tune to: 11421:hC78M2S0:S0.0W:24500:

WARNING: filter timeout pid 0x0000

Done.

To be honest, I got no clue on what I'm doing so I do not know where to begin looking for problems connected to finding services. What I can see the "technical" stuff in regards to linux and the card itself seem to work as it should.

Any kind of help is greatly appriciated! :)

ah btw; I've got a CAM from Canal Digital Nordic, (Conax/SMiTH)

Update to this..

If I remove my CI module muxes and channels are immedately found. But I cannot watch them since the CI-module is needed.. Another note is that when I insert the CI a red diode is it.. Does this mean "not good".. PLEASE HELP!!!

Hello,
Same problem here, I can't see encrypted channels :
- Debian Squeeze x64
- CAM "Viaccess Secure Dual CAM ACS 3.0"
- VDR software.

Is the red LED indicates a problem ? Could you help me to fix ?

Thank you.

I guess you have found the answers already but I write it down here for others to find :-)

The red light means that CAM card is physically inserted and accepted.

And the problem with encrypted channels has nothing to do with TBS drivers and TBS card (and also CAM card, whatever encryption is used, Conax etc). The root of the problem is that Tvheadend and Mythtv are only not-encrypted-channel receivers which means that decryption has to be performed before the signal/flow is handed over to them. This can be done with Oscam or Ffdecsawrapper/dvbloopback or use backend which by nature has native decryption (dvblast, mumudvb). Look for howtos, there are nice ones available in the net :-)
