TBS6284 not found on new motherboard

Postby davidrnewman » Mon Jan 06, 2020 8:31 pm

I have a new 12 core AMD Zen3 processor running in an Asus X570-E motherboard, into which I have plugged 2 DVB-T2 tuners, a TBS6284 and a Hauppauge QuadTV.

Under Kubuntu 19.10 Linux, running kernel 5.3, the Hauppauge tuner works but the TBS6284 does not.

lspci finds 2 entries for the QuadHD tuner, but nothing for the TBS6284.

Does the 6284 work with fast motherboards and processors?

Hi Sir

For TBS6284 it is using PCI-E 1.0a brideg some motherboard the BIOS have not this support , so please update the BIOS to latest version first then set
the PCI-E link speed to Gen1 some information you can find here:
viewtopic.php?f=86&t=8478

if after set still can not detect ,you can contact our support to update the card to TBS6205 which using new PCI-e bridge .

My BIOS doesn't let me set the PCI-E link speed. It is a choice of Auto or disabled. I would have to downgrade the BIOS to find one that lets me manually set Gen1.
